Built to be the quiet partner.

Micro-IT was built on a simple idea: the technology behind a small business should be invisible most of the time, and reachable on one phone number the rest.

·· 01 ·· Who we are

We’re a small business too.

Micro-IT is an American small business that spends its days looking after other American small businesses. We make payroll. We chase invoices. We have weeks that go sideways. So when an owner tells us an unplanned $6,000 IT bill just ate the quarter, that isn’t a story we read about somewhere — it’s a month we’ve had.

That peer footing is the whole premise. We aren’t an enterprise firm scaling down to reach you; we’re the shop across the street that happens to have spent years building the security stack the big firms run on, priced so a fifteen-person office can actually have it.

Why we exist.

Most small businesses we meet have the same story. There’s a guy who does the IT — sometimes a real consultant, sometimes a friend who’s good with computers. The arrangement works fine until it doesn’t. A breach happens. A backup fails. Somebody discovers the antivirus expired in 2022. And the bill that follows is always bigger than anyone expected.

We were built around a different deal: flat monthly pricing, documented work, one phone number. You should know exactly what you’re paying for, and exactly who answers for it when something breaks. No mystery invoice, no shrug.

What we believe.

Technology should feel like a quiet partner — protecting your team, keeping your systems running, and giving you one number to call when something goes wrong. Our job is to take decisions off your plate, not hand you more of them.

Your long-term technology partner.

We’re built to be a long-term partner, not a vendor you swap every two years. The security we deploy — EDR, 24/7 SOC monitoring, MFA enforcement, DNS filtering, and AI-assisted threat detection — is identical on every client, so managing risk gets simpler as you grow instead of harder. Cybersecurity consulting, compliance evidence files, and quarterly business reviews are included, not billed as extras.

Technology should serve your goals rather than the other way around. Our team brings years of operating experience across healthcare, professional services, retail, and municipal IT, and we pair classic infrastructure work with modern AI tooling for triage, alerting, and reporting. What that buys you is quiet — the threats and the operational risk that would otherwise eat your week get handled before they ever reach your desk.

·· 02 ·· Where we work

Four offices. Fifty states.

We keep four offices — Metropolis, Illinois, which is home base; Paducah, Kentucky, just across the Ohio; Waco, Texas, where our Central Texas partner works from; and Montrose, Colorado, on the western slope. None of them are storefronts. They’re rooms we meet people in when meeting in a room is the useful thing to do.

The work itself is remote-first, in all fifty states, on the same stack and the same response target whether you’re ten minutes from one of those pins or two time zones away. We’ll be there in person when it matters — and the honest part is that it rarely has to come to that. A proactive partner spends the week keeping things from breaking. A break-fix shop spends it waiting for your phone call. We have been the first kind since 2017.

Every office is by appointment — call or book a time and we’ll have the coffee on. Support itself reaches all fifty states remotely, on one stack and one response target.
·· 03 ·· Operating principles

How we make decisions.

When the answer to a problem isn’t obvious, these are the four rules we fall back on.

01

Partners, not vendors

An IT relationship gets better the longer it runs. We hire, price, and document for a five-year partnership — not a transaction. Most of our clients have been with us for years, and we plan for that to be true of every new one.

02

Documented, then done

Every change is written down before it’s made. Tribal knowledge is the enemy of a good IT partner.

03

One number to call

No tier-1, tier-2, escalation queue. The same person who answers will own the ticket until it’s closed.

04

Boring is the goal

Excitement in IT means a fire is burning. The best months are the ones where you forget we exist.

·· 04 ·· Leadership

Who answers for the work.

Micro-IT is owner-led. One person is accountable for the standard every ticket is held to — and you can reach him directly.

Chief executive officer · Part-owner

Dr. Zackary Hille

Zackary owns Micro-IT’s security-first managed stack — the tooling, the documentation standard, and the runbooks behind every ticket. He runs the company from our Metropolis, Illinois office, meets clients at the Paducah, Waco, and Montrose offices by appointment, and works with the rest of the country the way most of our clients prefer: remotely, and before anything breaks.
